Stevie & Chris
Set in the charming town of San Marcos at The Lakehouse Resort that overlooks a gorgeous lakeside, Chris & Stevie’s wedding was an intimate occasion where no more than 40 of their closest friends and family attended to show love and support. The Southern California couple exchanged their nuptials on an “island” near the Lakehouse Resort, which provided a private secluded backdrop for all in attendance to be together as the two exchanged vows and rings. Chris & Stevie envisioned a celebration that would provide a dreamy place for guests to soak in the sun, enjoy their intimate wedding and join-in on their love celebrated. When I shot their wedding, I took time to not only preserve the story of Chris and Stevie’s big day, but I also felt it was important to photograph the surrounding elements in order to add to the feeling of their day. I witnessed and captured heartfelt moments, like when the mother of the groom had a quiet moment looking at the chair that was reserved for Chris’s late father in a way to honor him at the wedding, or when Stevie walked into the reception area and her first reaction to the beautiful display that awaited her guests. I wanted to capture their playful love, the exquisite details, the incredible light and their guests adorned in colorful cocktail hour attire. My favorite moment of the day was when I witnessed all the guests gather at a beautifully dressed, family style dinner table that overlooked the lakeside as they announced the entrance of Chris & Stevie, Mr. & Mrs. Boyd! There was so much joy, love and celebration in that moment.
